Being a drummer, I bought the EVO16 primarily for smartgain feature. I know focusrite has come out with a similar feature but you can't beat Audient's price point for the quality.

In Arc4 use the surrounding eq nodes to act as a Q by pushing them closer or further to the node that you want a Q on. This will use up nodes so there is that.

Hi, I just detected to you are having the same problem with me, there is crackling or kinda rubbing sounds coming with your sound. I did a lot of troubleshooting to solve to problem. I talked with the focusrite team, they didn't solve it yet. Let me warn you it is really hard to hear but, once u hear it, it is always disturbing you. I recorded many vocals with it, and even you put a lot of of plugins after the record it does not go away. If you closely listen to 4:30 you would see what I mean.(when you are saying accurate and CONSISTENT (on this word you can hear the bad sound) . Especially with the rap vocals or when you talk fast, it ruins the record. If anyone have the same problem, please helppp! It happens just when u talk to mic. To solve this I changed my Mac computer and got I m3 MacBook Pro, I didn't help. I think I am going to change the Scarlett. I think finally Scarlett is the problem.

The WA definitely has more body in all examples.

This a good content vid, but for oldies like me, it is like speed reading. Even with the contents breakdown, I still am struggling to follow along and comprehend what is happening at each step. Next time you make a series, have pause points and/or include titles at each section. Click this, do that, now do this commands don't make for good understanding. Demonstrate-explain-practice DEP or Explain-demonstrate-practice EDP are the preferred methods of delivering skills learning. Soz.

I have both of these units. I don't hear a significant difference between them. The Berhinger is the best bang for the buck.

How would these compare to the Sundaras for mixing and mastering? I have the DT 990 Pros atm and looking for an upgrade. I'm mostly after a "flat" sounding open headphone in the 400-500EUR/USD price bracket.

use what makes you happy, have fun, enjoy the process. that is what matters - the end result is much more dependent on the source material and your ears / patience / skill / monitoring than it is on what you use. I'm sitting next to £80K of hardware - it puts a smile on my face every time I use it but I do ITB mixes too all the time. the digital vs. analogue debate is boring AF. great mixers can use stock plug-ins and smash it (if the song / arrangement / parts are great). if you are lucky enough to afford hardware then make careful choices and it will last for years, pay for itself many times over and be super fun to use but it doesn't guarantee a great mix and anyone who says you need it to do one is a fool.

did you waste your money? Well no, unless you feel you did? If you like analog gear: perfect, enjoy it. I dont want the hassle, my mixes sound better ITB (i feel at least and other say the same) and I can recall so easily I will never go full analog. Im a session drummer too, and I did do the A/B and I feel the ITB approach won.. though both had its advantages. But I can simply sum some tracks analog if I miss something... but I rarely feel I do. AND I saved 50k ... which I used to buy more drums ;-) NB: key is a good tape emulation... I use AirWindows ToTape5 and AnalogObsession PreBOX for that. Better than the expensive ones in my opinion.

I love the physical analog gear, but this trend starting to fade in favour of software as technology gets more advanced by the minute. You could now mimic any analog gear and probably make it better with more features as we are seeing many times with software like Arturia Mini V4. That's just an incredible piece of software that sounds like the real physical thing, for me better. Assume that you have 2 tracks in your mix, one with a physical Minimoog and the other track with Arturia Mini V4. I can guarantee you that you cannot appreciate the difference between both of them within the mix. That being said, I would think that buying physical analog gear today is almost a bad idea unless you are one of those who would love to have one of them in the studio (like me). We, anyways, have physical synthesizers, that's the PC running audio firmwares. Our synth has a more powerful CPU than any physical synthesizer, why wasting $4000, just get SERUM.

No you simply got the tools that INSPIRE you to achieve your goal. Some can sit at. liptop all day, freezing tracks, comping, and that's ok... some others need tactile. I personally prefer Hybrid mixing, but I've got millions of soundscan on digital mixes and analog mixes. To each their own tool choices.

I have the updated Master Plan and Ozone 10 Advanced. It's very close between the two but I have been using Master Plan more. The only advantage I would give to Ozone is the fact you can use the individual modules on mix tracks which I use quite a bit. If someone is starting off in mixing, the Ozone suite has a bunch of useful modules to cover a lot of bases (dynamic EQ, saturation, limiting, spatial tools, etc). Logic mastering is mediocre but would work in a pinch. They should definitely give you more options on the eq to make adjustments.

Start by recording the same signal with the same microphone. Record the signal once through the expensive analog hardware and once directly through the digital interface. Then, leave the analog track as it is and process the digital recording with analog plugin emulations. If there is no audible difference, or if it’s impossible to tell which sounds better, then that's the definitive proof that you don't need analog hardware in the studio, as analog distortion can be easily emulated if desired! However, the problem will be that your studio will rarely be booked, because a room full of unnecessary hardware often creates a "wow" effect for many people "gg".

After listening to these recordings a few times, in my opinion, The Scarlet sounds like it's being attenuated too much. Towards the mid high to high range it sound like it's being digitally compressed too much compared to the Audient.

KH120 user here of 5 yrs. I found the same thing, they are very low mid forward. I've found that going into the eq switches on the back and taking out some low mids and adding the 1db treble boost has turned them into really balanced little monitors that are like microscopes for audio. I also found that getting them as close to me as possible also made a big difference! Definitely temped by the Barefoot Footprint 03s though as an upgrade!

It's strange for sound levels of analog and digital units: Analog sound levels from 0 to ∞ dB Digital sound levels from - ∞ to 0 dB (I see this in many editing software)
